Banaras Hindu University (BHU) released a recruitment notification for the positions of Principal, PGT, TGT, and PRT in Central Hindu Boys’ School, Central Hindu Girls’ School, and Shri Ranveer Sanskrit Vidyalaya. Interested candidates can apply online through the Recruitment and Assessment Cell portal of BHU.

Eligibility for Principal (CHBS, CHGS, SRSV)

• Essential: Master Degree from recognized University with at least 50% marks in aggregate. For Principal SRSV, Master’s in Vyakaran, Sahitya, Jyotish, Veda, Darshan & Sanskrit. B.Ed or equivalent teaching degree from NCTE approved institution.
• Experience: Persons holding analogous posts OR Vice-Principal/Asstt. Education Officers in Level-10 with 5 years as PGT and 2 years as Vice-Principal OR PGTs/Lecturer in Level-8 with at least 8 years regular service OR 15 years combined regular services as TGT and PGT (with 3 years as PGT). Experience must be in co-ed/boys or co-ed/girls school as applicable.
• Desirable: Knowledge of Computer application.

Eligibility for PGT (Hindi, English, Maths, Economics, History, Psychology, Darshan, Physics)

• Essential: Two Years’ Integrated Post Graduate M.Sc. Course of Regional College of Education of NCERT OR Master Degree with at least 50% marks in aggregate in relevant subject. B.Ed. or equivalent degree from NCTE approved institution. Proficiency in teaching in Hindi & English medium. For SRSV, proficiency in Hindi & Sanskrit medium.
• Desirable: Knowledge of Computer Applications.

Eligibility for PGT Physical Education

• Essential: M.P.Ed. with at least 50% marks from NCTE approved institution. Proficiency in teaching Hindi and English medium.
• Desirable: Knowledge of Computer Applications.

Eligibility for TGT (English, Maths, Urdu, Sanskrit, Social Studies, Science, Home Science, Agriculture, Vyakaran, Sahitya, Jyotish, Veda, Darshan)

• Essential: Four years’ Integrated degree course of Regional College of Education of NCERT with at least 50% marks OR Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks in concerned subjects/combination. B.Ed. or equivalent degree from NCTE approved institution. Pass in CTET. Proficiency in teaching in Hindi and English medium. For SRSV, proficiency in Hindi & Sanskrit medium.
• Desirable: Knowledge of Computer Applications.

Eligibility for TGT Music (Instrumental & Vocal)

• Essential: Degree in Music with at least 50% marks from a recognized University. Proficiency in teaching in Hindi and English medium.
• Desirable: Knowledge of Computer Applications.

Eligibility for TGT Physical Education

• Essential: B.P.Ed with at least 50% marks from NCTE approved institution. Proficiency in teaching in Hindi and English medium.
• Desirable: Knowledge of Computer Applications.

Eligibility for Primary Teacher (PRT)

• Essential: Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education OR 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education). Qualified in CTET. Proficiency to teach through Hindi & English medium. For SRSV, proficiency in Hindi & Sanskrit medium.
• Desirable: Knowledge of Computer Applications.

• Last Date for Online submission and Application Fee payment: 05.01.2026 upto 5:00 p.m.
• Last date for submission of downloaded application form with enclosures: 10.01.2026 upto 5:00 p.m.

Selection Process

The University may conduct a written test followed by presentation and interview for selecting suitable candidates. The syllabus for written test shall be decided and notified by the University at a later stage. Selected candidates will be called for verification of original documents.

Applicants shall first register on the Recruitment & Assessment Cell portal on the BHU website, after which they can fill up the prescribed electronic application form online. After successful submission and payment of fee (if applicable), the downloaded hardcopy of the application form along with all enclosures must be sent to the Office of the Registrar, Recruitment & Assessment Cell, Holkar House, BHU, Varanasi -221005 (U.P.) on or before 10.01.2026.
